Classes

Our students learn lots of amazing stuff and produce great work . . . everything from writing for many different purposes to art work, slide shows and video projects.  Here is a brief description of each class . . . click the images for more information on our curriculum.

Reading Intervention 6-7-8

 

A class for students in any grade who want to improve their reading skills, specifically their fluency (their ability to read aloud easily in a way that sounds like natural speech) and their decoding skills (ability to break apart and successfully read long words).  

ELA Intervention 6

 

This class is for sixth grade students who are working to increase their reading level and improve their writing to attain proficiency at grade level.  Students use Language!Live as well as StudySync, the regular ELA program.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ELD 123 (CELDT Levels Beginner through Intermediate)

 

This is a class for English Learners (students who are learning English as a second language) in the beginning through intermediate stages of English proficiency.  The school year begins with preparation for the CELDT test which is administered in early October, 2016.

AVID 6 - Advancement Via Individual Determination

 

AVID is a college readiness program based on WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading).  Students learn skills in each area of WICOR that help them become more successful learners and prepare them for college.  Participation is voluntary, and students must apply and be accepted to the AVID program.
